Payors are absolutely looking at the Society as a stamp of excellence. So when you're approaching managed care contracts, you're able to say, "Yes, I am accredited at my center." We're accredited at all five centers for Chest Pain and that carries value and that carries weight.
Elizabeth Maiorana, Corporate Divisional Director Cardiovascular Services, Vice President, Meridian Health
I think it's going to take cardiovascular services to a new level. I really have been impressed with the work that each of the accreditation groups has done to strengthen accreditation. I just think over time, it's really becoming a stronger and stronger society.
Cindy Brown, RN, Vice President, HealthPark Medical Center & Heart and Vascular Institute
Education is part of the Society's DNA. We were founded on the principle to help educate healthcare professionals on the dangers of chest pain and the benefits of early heart attack prevention. Today, we have multiple educational programs such as our annual congress, accreditation services, workshops, webinars, and ask-the-expert calls.
As an Institute of the American College of Cardiology, the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC) is committed to leading the fight to eliminate heart disease as the number one cause of death worldwide. Chest Pain Center (CPC), Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL), Heart Failure (HF) and Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Accreditations are our principal service lines. Accreditation improves the collaboration and integration of teams and departments leading to better treatment for patients along the continuum of care.
Just as importantly, education is at the core of the Society's DNA. We were founded to help educate the world about the dangers of heart attacks and the benefits of Early Heart Attack Care education and have created innovative programs to achieve this.
